THE ARTIST
The story
behind the sound.
Carlos Toshiki became the voice of 1986 Omega Tribe with the breakthrough single Kimi wa 1000%. His clear, distinctive delivery brought a new character to the project’s precisely arranged blend of synth pop, AOR and coastal imagery. The group later became Carlos Toshiki & Omega Tribe, extending that sound through the end of the decade with sleek production, vivid hooks and a cosmopolitan identity unlike any other act in Japanese pop.
