Singer, guitarist, arranger and producer Toshiki Kadomatsu made the studio itself part of the composition. From AFTER 5 CLASH to the instrumental SEA IS A LADY, his records balance exact drum programming, elastic bass, bright guitar and carefully controlled space. His work for Anri and other artists also helped define the sharper, rhythm-led edge of 1980s City Pop.
