THE ARTIST
The story
behind the sound.
Meiko Nakahara debuted in 1982 as a singer-songwriter with a vivid rhythmic identity already in place. Latin percussion, brass, boogie bass lines and bold melodic writing give albums such as FRIDAY MAGIC and LOTOS their constant sense of motion. Her music later travelled through anime, DJ culture and online rediscovery, while songs such as Fantasy revealed how naturally her exuberant pop could cross borders.
